Police Recruitment: NPF to administer lie detector test on candidates

lie detector on candidate, in its ongoing recruitment exercise.

DCP Don Awunah, said the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim K. Idris, directed that candidates who emerge successful in the ongoing recruitment exercise must be subjected to a compulsory polygraph test.

According to Awunah, the test is aimed at ensuring that candidates are not of questionable character and their behaviour conform with standard rules expected of an officer to be recruited into the Force.

Awunah said the test will be in addition to the general background check, biometrics, medical, physical examination, aptitude, oral and psychological tests.

Quoting the police boss, the Force spokesman, said no candidate will be admitted for training at the Police academy and colleges without undergoing these prescribed tests.

He further added that the police will also carry out a thorough verification of all documents submitted by prospective candidates.
