Mayowa Ahmed have been announced dead by the family after been flown to South Africa for surgery.
A family member, Asiwaju Foye, in a
series of tweet around 1.23 pm on Sunday afternoon said Mayowa passed
away in the early hours of Sunday.

He tweeted, “By Allah, in whose hands
our lives is, Mayowa Ahmed has left us in this world. We pray that
Jannat becomes her home #RipMayowa. She tried, we tried but God’s will
prevailed #RipMayowa”
Mayowa was diagnose with Ovarian cancer, which saw the director of Lifestake Foundation
launched an online appeal to raise funds for her surgery in an
Atlanta-based hospital in the United States. The campaign was tag "#SaveMayowa.
The campaign was said to have raised over N80m and a separate $100,000
for her.
