Barcelona Sporting Director Robert Fernandez has apparently confirmed the departure of Dani Alves.
Dani Alves 33, has decided to leave the Nou
Camp after eight years with the Spanish champions with the reason being a personal one.
Fernandez was quoted as saying.
'Dani has decided to leave. It`s a personal decision which we respect. There`s no more to say. He`s already told us of his intention. He`s been an extraordinary player'
'Dani has decided to leave. It`s a personal decision which we respect. There`s no more to say. He`s already told us of his intention. He`s been an extraordinary player'
He went on to say 'The club was in a
difficult situation. Dani was very important to the club and we decided
to offer a renewal. Renewals aren`t only decided by the club but the
player and his representative, seeking favourable situations, and in
that negotiation Alves wanted a year and then to go free. The club
doesn`t always win in negotiations.'
"This is a personal decision that the club has to
accept," Barca's sporting director Robert Fernandez told a news
conference.
Alves won 23 titles in his spell at Barcelona, and is now a free agent.
He has not indicated where he plans to go, but the player's agent
and former wife, Dinorah Santa Ana da Silva, said last week that she had
met representatives of Italian champions Juventus as well as several
other European clubs.
